Our History
Bhotechaur has a rich history as a vibrant community in Sindhupalchok District. On Fagun 27, 2073 BS (March 2017), during Nepal's transition to federalism, Melamchi Municipality underwent significant restructuring. As part of this reorganization, the former Bhotechaur VDC was incorporated into Melamchi Municipality.
This historic change saw Wards 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the former Bhotechaur VDC merging to form what is now Ward No. 1 of Melamchi Municipality—preserving our community's identity while integrating us into the broader municipal framework.
Before 2073 BS
Bhotechaur existed as an independent Village Development Committee (VDC) with its own administrative structure.
